Trinidad and Tobago exported $33.4 million in goods to Venezuela in 2025 and imported $34.7 million, according to Foreign and Caricom Affairs Minister Sean Sobers, who said the trade relationship between the two countries offered “considerable scope for growth”.
Sobers highlighted the 1992 Caricom-Venezuela Trade and Investment Agreement as an important framework for facilitating trade.
He said technical teams from both countries are reviewing the agreement to identify and prioritise products for trade.
Sobers made the remarks at a business roundtable with a delegation from Venezuela’s Sucre State at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre yesterday, where public- and private-sector stakeholders explored opportunities to expand trade, attract investment and strengthen energy cooperation.
