For many children, a book can be the gateway to imagination, language development and a lifelong love for learning.
Through a partnership involving the Early Childhood Commission (ECC); Miss Globe Jamaica 2026, Nikelle Marier; Book Bank Canada, and The Good Health Project, hundreds of Jamaica’s youngest learners are now gaining greater access to books and meaningful reading experiences.
The initiative, which forms part of the ECC’s Read Across the Parish 2026 programme, has facilitated the donation of 418 books to Early Childhood Institutions (ECIs) across the island, helping to strengthen literacy development during the critical early years of childhood.
