Antigua and Barbuda made its contribution to high-level regional discussions aimed at advancing the Caribbean’s reparatory justice agenda at the Third CARICOM Regional Conference on Reparations in Barbados.

The three-day conference, which ran from September 17 to 19 under the theme “Reparatory Justice as the Coming Enlightenment”, brought together Caribbean leaders, scholars, advocates and international partners for the region’s first major forum dedicated to reparatory justice in more than a decade.

Antigua and Barbuda was represented by Ambassador Dorbrene O’Marde, Ambassador Anthony Liverpool, Senator Angelica O’Donoghue and Dr Lenworth Johnson. The delegation attended Thursday evening’s opening ceremony, which included addresses by CARICOM Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles and His Highness Papa Paul Jones Eganda.
