Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation Chester Cooper urged Bahamians to take advantage of the expanding opportunities arising from the growth of the cruise sector in The Bahamas.
Cooper made the remarks at a recent “Opportunities from Cruise Industries” meeting with the Tourism Development Corporation (TDC) at the Margaritaville Beach Resort.
There Cooper addressed cruise executives, government officials, port leaders, tourism agencies and local operators, explaining that the record cruise arrivals being experienced by The Bahamas have to begin to translate into stronger participation by Bahamians in the cruise industry, and ownership in businesses that benefit from the cruise industry.
