The very first Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Expo is officially carded for February 4th and 5th, 2026, at the John E. St. Luce Finance and Conference Center, with doors open to the public from 9 am to 3:30 pm.
The event begins with an opening ceremony at 8:45 am on the first day, marking a significant milestone as the first collaborative exhibition of its kind in the nation. While the preceding days of February 2nd and 3rd are dedicated to internal setup, the main event serves as a grand showcase for students from across Antigua and Barbuda, including participants travelling from Barbuda.
Marion Byron, the Assistant Director of TVET within the Ministry of Education, explained that the primary mission of this expo is to improve the visibility of vocational training and actively showcase future career paths.
“For the past few years, the Ministry has worked toward moving student talent out of the classroom and into the marketplace to show the society the true value of these skills,” she stated.
Byron outlined eight specific areas covered under the TVET umbrella, including agricultural science, industrial technology, physical education and sports, performing arts, visual arts, business education, home economics, and information technology. She said that at the heart of all these disciplines is creativity, which she believes is the engine for the country’s economic development.
