Lutrell John and Makiba Ward, two newly appointed National Youth Ambassadors whose ambitious projects promise to shape the future of the country, shared their visions and aspirations during an inspiring interview, highlighting their commitment to empowering youth and transforming communities.

John, focused on project development in Barbuda, voiced his dedication to improving access to resources, education, and activities for his community. “Barbuda has often been at the short end of the stick when it comes to access,” he explained. “Many Barbudans travel to Antigua just for basic resources — textbooks, and proper education facilities. I want to change that.”

On the other hand, Ward is prioritizing the transformation of school libraries across the nation. Her mission is to modernize and make libraries more student-friendly, fostering literacy, resourcefulness, and critical thinking among secondary school students. “Knowledge is power,” she emphasized, “and I want to create impactful spaces where students can learn and grow.”
