On Thursday, 3rd July 2025, Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas departed for Jamaica together with a delegation to attend the 49th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), taking place from July 6 to 8, 2025. The delegation accompanying the Prime Minister includes Mr. Djurick Comenentia, acting Secretary-General of the Ministry of General Affairs; Mrs. Melissa Vasquez, Legal Advisor at the Office of the Prime Minister / Ministry of General Affairs; and Mrs. Nerissa Romero, Policy Officer at the Department of Foreign Relations.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Pisas aims to gain deeper insight into key developments in the region, with a particular focus on combating climate change, clean energy, geopolitical developments, and the overall well-being of Caribbean nations. Curaçao is also working on establishing a more central and permanent role to engage more actively with the CARICOM community.
