Lima, Oct 9 (Prensa Latina) The 40th session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), dedicated to the analysis of the most important issues for the economic and social development of the region, is set to begin. The event will take place over two days with the representation of high-level delegates from the 46 member countries of ECLAC. The central theme of the meeting will be “Latin America and the Caribbean facing the traps of development: Indispensable transformations and how to manage them,” in a regional context of social demands for change and the emergence in the region of extremely conservative positions with a liberal approach.
