FRANKFURT, Germany, Monday September 11, 2017 – The Caribbean could be facing a whopping IS$10 billion-plus repair bill from Hurricane Irma. Last Friday, even as Hurricane Irma continued its trek across the Caribbean, disaster risk experts in Germany reported that it had already caused more than US$10 billion in damage across the Caribbean, making it the costliest storm ever to hit the region’s island nations and territories.
