"The initiatives contained in Budget 2023 represent a major step forward in ensuring that these needs are met in the shortest possible time. At the same time, we attach an equally high level of importance to ensuring that the investments needed for longer term wellbeing are also being made. Reflecting this recognition, Budget 2023 is presented under the theme Improving Lives Today, Building Prosperity for Tomorrow, capturing the essence of simultaneous attention being paid to both the immediate issues and irritants of the day as well as the longer-term investments need to secure the wellbeing of all of the Guyanese People well into the future."
